Manitowoc County Mariners

Schedule of events:

Friday May 18th: Spanky's Volleyball Challenge. The mariners take on Metz' Combat Club in a

co-ed volleyball game at 6:15pm. Spanky's 1110 30th street Two Rivers, WI 54241.

Sunday May 20th: Mariners Golf Tournament and Luncheon. Sign in at noon Tee Time is at 1pm with the luncheon at 3pm. Open to anyone. $160 for a four person team and includes the luncheon, non-golfers may attend the luncheon for $10.

2012 SCHEDULE RELEASED

The WSFL voted on the schedule for 2012. This year the Mariners will have two bye weeks in a row on Labor day then the following week along with their earlier bye in the season on August 18th. All games this year will be played on Saturdays. The Mariners will be playing a preseason game this year on Saturday June 30th at Ameche Field in Kenosha as part of the MSFL-WSFL doubleheader. The Sheboygan County Rebels will play the Roscoe Rush at 3pm followed by Manitowoc County facing the Lake Geneva Generals at 7pm.

BACK IN MOTION CHIROPRACTIC JOINS TEAM

Dr. Rick Lawson has teamed up with the Mariners and will be the team’s official chiropractor. His practice is located in Two Rivers at 1817 Washington Street. He will do free first time evaluations for free after a $15 donation to the team.

Dr. Lawson along with his fiancée Bobbi and daughter Braelynn moved to Two Rivers after he opened his practice in April of 2011. Growing up in upper Michigan, he played football, basketball and baseball. He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. While there, Lawson served an internship in the Sports Injury and Rehabilitation Department at Palmer College. There he was able to gain valuable experience working with athletes from different sports like Rugby, Baseball as well as runners. Rick also served as a clinical teaching assistant and was a nominee for the prestigious Clinical Excellence Award at graduation. Adding to his already elusive college career as a student, Lawson also played Lacrosse while at Palmer College.

Prior to college he lived in Green Bay and after his college career he wanted to move back to northeast Wisconsin and living around water was something important to him. So when a place for his practice became available in Two Rivers, he jumped at the chance saying, “It’s just like being in the U.P., I’m on the lake in Packer country and still close to home and my family.” Team President Marcos Alfaro had this to say, “It’s great to work together with a local business and help provide affordable services to our players and help local businesses grow. Dr. Rick is a great guy and will definitely be an asset to us.”
